Colorful Victorian homes on steep hills, the red Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and Alcatraz Island. This site was also known as “The Rock” and site of the former prison, which held notorious criminals, such as Al “Scarface” Capone.

There’s prime shopping to be had in San Francisco — from the Ferry Building Marketplace and Marina district to Noe Valley, the Mission, and Upper Haight, there are independent boutiques galore. If you like the outdoors, there are lots of incredible spaces in San Francisco to enjoy the temperate weather. The Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach is a pretty site, and you can watch sea lions play at Pier 39. Explore the ruins of the Sutro Baths or do yoga in Dolores Park.
